B i o g r a p h y

Currently, Don is the Professor of Theatre and Program Coordinator at Oklahoma City Community College where he was honored to receive the 2023 President's Award for Excellence in Teaching. And in the fall of 2023, Don became a PhD candidate in the Rhetorics, Communication, and Information Design program at Clemson University.

 

Prior to accepting his position at OCCC in the Fall of 2019, he spent six and a half years in Milwaukee, WI where he was a Founding Member of Cooperative Performance, a performance company that seeks to create new and innovative works. He served on their Board of Directors for seven years, having spent four years as the Board Chair prior to moving to Oklahoma. Through Cooperative Performance Don has written, directed, and performed in several interdisciplinary and experimental works.


Before moving to Milwaukee, Don spent nearly three years in Columbia, SC earning his MFA in Acting at the University of South Carolina. During his time there, he had the privilege of working and studying extensively with Master Teachers Robyn Hunt and Steve Pearson, Artistic Directors of the Pacific Performance Project/East, and is now a member of Hunt and Pearson's P3 Studio.  www.p3east.com


Up until his acceptance at UofSC, Don had spent six years in Los Angeles, CA during which time he continued working on his craft, exploring film and television, and earning his MA in Theatre from California State University, Northridge. He also spent a year studying stage combat under Sword Masters Dan Speaker and Jan Bryant at the Academy of Theatrical Combat.
